[ TECTONIC NUNEM ]

In Tectonic Numen, I’m interested in how modest, weathered materials can take on the gravity of ancient structures. Through layering and placement, aged paper, oils, and graphite suggest foundations, thresholds, and masses under pressure. I think of temples that might have formed through erosion or compression, with no clear distinction between what was built and what emerged. Across the diptych, density and empty space shape how weight is felt. The sacred enters through that encounter: the moment something fragile begins to feel monumental.
